From June 27, 2026, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC has been applying a reduction index of 0.3, providing for a 70% discount on tariffs for main railway network and locomotive traction services for the transportation of socially important food products in domestic traffic, as well as wheat destined for domestic flour milling and bakery enterprises.
This measure is being implemented as part of the Comprehensive Plan to Increase Household Incomes for 2026–2029, approved by Resolution No. 485 of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 10, 2026, and is aimed at reducing food prices for the population and curbing food inflation.
The reduction index applies to the transportation of wheat (ETSNG code 011005) to the following destination stations: Atyrau, Beineu, Aktau-Port, Beles, Zhilayevo, Kyzylorda, Karagandy, Zhezkazgan, Kostanay, Petropavlovsk, Aktobe-1, Astana-1, Atbasar, Pavlodar, Turkestan, Shymkent, Almaty-1, Iliyskaya, Taldykorgan, Chemolgan, Taraz, Semey and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
For many years, Astyk Trans JSC has been supporting domestic flour milling enterprises by applying minimum rates for the provision of grain hopper cars on domestic routes, thereby helping reduce the transport burden and maintain the stable operation of domestic processors.
In support of the initiative of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC to reduce the transport burden on domestic processors, Astyk Trans JSC will maintain the current rates for the provision of grain hopper cars when transporting wheat along the established routes.
As a result of applying the reduction index while maintaining the current rates for the provision of grain hopper cars, the total cost of railway transportation will decrease by 15–40%, depending on the transportation distance.
