In 2017, in Kazakhstan, according to forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is planned to harvest about 20 million tons. At the same time, 60–70% is expected high-quality wheat.
Such indicators were named by the Vice Minister of Agriculture Mr. Kairat Aituganov.
In particular, he noted that this year the total sown area was 22.1 million hectares, which is 651 thousand hectares more than last year. Spring sowing amounted to 18.7 million ha.
The areas of popular crops (flax, rapeseed, sunflower, lentils, chickpeas, barley, oats, sugar beets and fodder) increased by 905.5 thousand ha.
Bad weather this spring did not affect the future harvest and grain quality. In many fields of the Kostanay region, wheat productivity is expected to be much higher than average. Within 20-30 centners per hectare. Farmers in the forecasts so far are very cautious. But we are ready to have rich harvest. If only the weather would not disappoint.
Currently, harvesting is going on in Almaty, Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and South Kazakhstan regions.
As of August 15, this year, 38% of the area was harvested, 1,740.3 thousand tons of grain in original weight were threshed. The average yield was 20.2 c / ha.
Over the past 5 years, the quality of wheat has been declining. If in 2011 it was 88%, wheat of the 3rd class, last year - 44%, this year we really see about 60–70% in the regions. We expect that it will be high-quality wheat. We will receive about 20 million tons of grain.
In 2017, sowing was increased with quality seeds by 1.5 times. The use of elite seeds increased by 68%, and low-quality seeds decreased by 1.6 times.
In addition, special attention is paid to phytosanitary safety of crops. Chemical treatments against herd locusts were carried out on an area of 1.9 million hectares. Damage to agricultural crops this year was not noted so far.
This year, measures were taken to maximize the coverage of treatments against diseases of crops at the expense within the republican budget, the volume of treatments is more than 12 times compared to last year. This influenced reducing the spread of grain diseases, which contributed to a better formation of crops.
In general, the yield of cereal crops in the current year in the republic is projected at an average of 12.6 c / ha, gross grain harvest will be 19.2 million tons.
The harvesting campaign involved 42 thousand units of combines, including more than 14 thousand units of high-performance combine harvesters, which are supposed to remove more than 70% (11 million hectares) of the harvested area of grain crops.
For the autumn works this year, the required volume of diesel fuel in the republic was determined in the amount of 393.9 thousand tons, including for the Akmola region - 70 thousand tons, Kostanay - 76 thousand tons, North Kazakhstan - 75 thousand tons.
The regions Majors were instructed to take measures to assist agricultural producers in resolving issues of providing financial and material resources, as well as timely preparation of equipment for harvesting, completion of preparation of elevator-storage tanks and current facilities by business entities.
